1850 – 1899

 

Tom Smith, huntsman extraordinaire, buys Fir Hill in 1851, having rented it for a year prior to that. He builds an extension. After his death in 1878, Fir Hill is sold.

 

Rev Samuel King buys Fir Hill in 1879 and immediately starts major renovations. His daughter, Constance Emily King, lives with him. After his death in 1899, Fir Hill is again sold.
